Fireman

Our Owatonna Firedepartment had a chili feed this past weekend.  Pictures say it all, Jae loved it!  :)

And the best part, the remote control firetruck that danced and sang songs.  Brennan and Jae could have stayed with it all day long.

Hunze Cabin trip #2

We had a busy September.  Paul and I went to Washington DC and New York City for a work trip.  Had a great time seeing all the sights without having any agenda.

Then, because we missed Jae so much, we took an extra couple of days the following week to take Jae to my parent's cabin.  A wonderful time relaxing, throwing rocks in the lake, and bonfires.

How are you foster family?  We miss you.

Happy Gotcha Day

Happy gotcha day, Jae.  What a wonderful year it has been.  Seems like just yesterday we were at Eastern Welfare in Seoul with Foster Mom, Foster Sister and Foster Dad.  We promise to give you a fun filled day...and maybe spoil you a little bit too!

One Year Ago

Yesterday was a bit of an anniversary for the Herzog family, it was one year ago yesterday that we got the call to fly to Korea.  How time flies!  One year ago, Paul and I were packing our bags and panicking.  Wondering if we were truly ready for this thing call parenthood.  :)  Great memories of traveling to Seoul, visiting the sites and meeting our son.  I still very vividly remember sitting in the waiting area waiting for foster mom and Jae to walk through the door.  Wonderful memories.  And now, we have a son that we couldn't love more if we tried.

Grandma and Grandpa's Cabin

The three of us took a trip up to my parent's recently remodeled cabin.  Jae loved it!  Lots of wagon rides, swimming, hammock swings, and campfires complete with smores.  Many more trips to come.

Summer Olympics

Go Team USA!  But much like the winter Olympics in Vancouver, Paul and I hope another country does well...South Korea.  We are proud of our strong connection to the country and enjoy cheering for their athletes.  We watched their men's first soccer match earlier this week and just now enjoyed watching them enter Olympic stadium.  We have Korean writing on our wall, Korean cookbooks, Korean art, a Korean flag and our wonderful Korean son.  We are proud to have that country's strong presence in our home.  Miss you foster family and we will be cheering for your country's Olympic athletes over the next 3 weeks.

I promise to post more pictures of Jae later this week.  But big news from Jae...he is pottytrained!  No more diapers!
