Jae's Last Chance

A court date is set for March 22 at 10:15 AM!  Finally!  We keep joking that Jae has less than a month to get out of this family.  After March 22, it will be too late.  :)

Free to Set a Court Date

Yesterday we received notification from our agency that they submitted the final paperwork to our county courthouse.  Which means, we are cleared to set a court date for finalization!  There is a chance we could be finalizing Jae's adoption this week or next.  Talk about seeing the bright light at the end of the tunnel!

While Jae was napping I read through some of my old blog posts.  Mostly, I read through the ones from right before we left for Korea and then the ones from our stay while there.  Great memories.  It was hard, and scary, and long, but well worth it.  It is almost silly how tough we were on ourselves those first few days of being parents. It was a learning curve for all of us.

Since it was so nice outside today, we decided to assemble Jae's little red car and head out to play.

Jae couldn't wait to get in, even though the wheels were not on yet.

Thanks for putting my car together, Daddy!
Get in, Mommy.  I'll give you a lift.

Foster Family Book

This is another post for Jae's Korean Foster Family.  They gave Jae a beautiful photo book filled with his baby pictures and a few pictures of themselves.  Jae loves it!  We have to actually hide it because otherwise he will look at it constantly and we are scared he is going to rip the pages.  We took the book out of hiding today.  The below says it all...

First Trip to the Courthouse

At lunch today, Paul and I got a few legal forms notarized and then headed to the courthouse to file for a court date!  :)  It is the beginning of the end.  The county courthouse needs to contact our agency directly for a few things (like Jae's Korean birth certificate) and then we will be assigned a court date for finalization.

It was a good day.  For those that know me well...I might have gotten a little misty after filing our forms.  Might have.

Winter Days

Although it is not super cold out (for Feb in Minnesota), we have been enjoying time staying inside and staying warm.

Story time with Daddy and puppy

Poor Larry.  Such a good dog.

Korean New Year

This past week was the Korean New Year and the Rochester Korean Social group threw a little celebration on Saturday.  Jae had a lot of fun playing with old and new friends.  Speaking of old friends, we ran into the Paul family at the celebration.  They are the cutest little family of 5 that was staying at Eastern for a birthland tour when we went to get Jae.  Great memories of that family and our time in Korea.  It was just to watch Jae once again buddy up with the oldest, Henry.

In other adoption news...we are almost there!  We are 24 hours away from submitting our legal forms to the Steele county courthouse for finalization.  Hopefully Steele county moves fast and we will be able to appear in court yet this month.  We are ready for Jae to officially be a Herzog.
